How CliniFeed handles personal information

CliniFeed respects privacy and processes personal information in line with applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Information we process

We may process account and identity details, professional profile information, contact details, subscription and transaction records, product usage and technical logs, communications, and patient-related information entered by healthcare professionals.

2. Why we process information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide clinical nutrition planning features, maintain patient records entered by users, administer subscriptions, deliver service and product communications, support users, prevent abuse, measure service performance, and meet legal obligations.

3. Patient and special personal information

Healthcare professionals must have the necessary authority and consent before entering patient information. CliniFeed processes that information only to provide the requested service and does not replace the user’s professional or legal responsibilities.

4. Service-provider categories

We use providers for identity and authentication, cloud hosting and storage, transactional email, billing and payment processing, and privacy-conscious product analytics. They may process information only for the services they provide and under appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, contractual and operational requirements, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and applicable law. Account deletion removes or anonymises local account and application data, subject to records we must retain, including payment and deletion-audit records.

6. Cross-border processing

Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we use contractual, organisational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable data-protection law.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, request deletion, and complain to the Information Regulator. Some requests may be limited by legal retention duties or the rights of others.
